>>1806176I'd heard a lot of things about Sunihara, but not that she was one to break a promise. Something was up, and I meant to find out what. I excused myself from the class without anyone taking note, and headed towards the last place I'd seen her at; the gym area.
The halls were pretty quiet, since everyone was either caught up in a class or club activity. Except two familiar girls who passed me by on the way. I thought I heard them snicker, but what really stood out was their features.
They were the girls from Sunihara's clique. As often as they were around her, how could I not recognize them?
Something was definitely not right. It wasn't much longer before saw the first signs of it. Eventually I saw signs of tattered fabric in the hall. Tiny shreds, not enough to be distinct but enough to leave a trail. Black cloth, white cotton... and some that seemed very delicate.
Eventually I stopped at the door to the girls' locker room, and my mind was formulating a picture that wasn't pretty. I hesitated, gave the empty halls another look, then reached out, pushing the door fractionally inward.
I heard the faint sound of a panicked yelp, and an opposing force shoved the door shut. "DON'T COME IN!"
I froze up, not sure how to react. It was her voice, no question about it. "Uh-... Sunihara. It's me. Are you okay?"
There was a long period of silence, before the faint voice finally responded.
"No. I'm naked."
"Oh. Well, why are you n-"
It was around that point that the word registered. It was several more seconds before I could find words to finish my sentence with.
"You're... uh, what?..."
"Y, you heard me... I came back from the showers and my things were gone."
I glanced back, recalled the snickering girls, and frowned even though I saw an empty hall. Putting two-and-two together didn't take long. Some friends.
"Well, hold tight, I'll go get the facul-"
"NO!"
"...what?"
"D, don't you dare tell a soul. J... just help me. No one else has to know."
