Just wondering, but has /doa/ ever thought of setting up a Hydrus network? It's basically a decentralized booru with all the same tagging features and shit (pic related), but harder to shutdown since everyone connected has a local copy.
It has a little learning curve (mostly just for people who actually want to tag things efficiently etc) but only takes like half an hour to figure out.
Right now I'm only really using it so I can organise my local pics better, but I was thinking we could probably get a shared server going pretty easy. If you guys want maybe I'll try setting it up, let me know so I can gauge interest in it.
I admit I'm only really suggesting this since I have so many files to tag and more people adding to it would be really helpful, but this could still benefit you all though seeing as there aren't really any good DoA boorus still online.
If you aren't interested in the shared part of it Hydrus is still really useful for organising your images though, much better than the folder sorting most people use anyway. If any of you are collectors you should really look into it:
