You'll hear fags tell you that you won't learn anything that way, but your mind and drawing hand have no idea how to coordinate with each other. Your mind wants to draw something, your eyes are seeing something complete different, and you hand is having a hard time deciding between the two.
Pros like Frank Cho have shamelessly admitted they've copied and traced when they first started drawing years ago. And look at how well he draws women today.
