The answer is a little complicated.
First of all, six is trivially low. I posted six images in your thread and still had time to make a massive windbag faggot of myself. I promise you can post six with minimal effort.
Second, the rule is only enforced if someone reports your thread. You may have noticed I contributed six images. Generally that helps you fly under the radar.
Third, 4chan tracks IPs, not cookies. If it tracked cookies, you would be incredibly hard to ban. Although 4chan isn't the one policing how many images your IP posts in the thread you OP'd. It leaves that to community, which brings us back to the second point.
Also, I normally offer this in my "welcome to /e/~!" post, but it slipped my mind this time around.
