Also, speaking purely from my own experience, I find imagining all the emotions the girl feels in the moment to be an additional turn-on when I'm fantasizing. I can't speak to how common that is, but for me, it very much adds to the experience.
The point I was getting at was that a guy self-inserting as the girl in a scenario isn't really that unusual, and doesn't mean the guy is gay or trans or whatever. Getting into the head of the subject of your arousal is inherently somewhat voyeuristic, and given all of us like seeing naked embarrassed girls, it's not much of a stretch that at least some of us would like that aspect, as well.
