>>2734160I'd imagine there'll always be demand for art that's just a bit better than what the average person can make, whatever the technology. The low-skill artists who are slightly better at drawing than that average person will probably also have to learn to be slightly better at AI wrangling, but I don't think as a niche it'll just disappear, just adapt to the new tools.
Although to be honest I don't know a whole lot about the art commission scene, so maybe this is just an uniformed take.
