So they made her a bit more modest.
The Divine family of demons containing the hierarchy of angels also became associated with the Reason of Yosuga in the story, which stands for the strong subjugating the weak, and the constant struggle for power. So it's possible that Angel was redesigned with a BDSM edge to show that she, being the weakest of the Divine family, is being subjugated by the Archangels and such that were above her in the hierarchy.
