After poring over audition listings, advertisements, and even checking out a few episodes of the real thing, Alice had her epiphany. Some people were really smart, some were really fast.
She could do *both*. Alice felt a surge of inspiration as she looked for the best opportunity, and then she found it. "The Clever Dash", a show requiring contestants to test both their minds and their wits, sometimes simultaneously. It was perfect. Alice went online, and found the site required not only an application, but a sample test. Well, of course it wasn't going to be easy. It took her about 10 minutes, well below average, but most of it was common sense to her, or at least anyone who knew their schoolwork.
It also stated a tryout would also be required if she passed the knowledge portion, but she'd cross that bridge if she got there. ...*when* she got there.
Unfortunately, by the time she got a reply, she had all but forgotten about the idea. Then she saw the letter under her door, and almost squealed with glee. An invitation to the tryouts, in two days at a nearby park.
The time came and went before she knew it, and the morning came.
She had a feeling that her skill wouldn't be enough, though. Producers tended to want a certain... something when it came to female competitors, and she wasn't born yesterday.
What was the ideal wardrobe?
[A] Be practical, wear something suited to competition.
Be fashionable, wear something that looks good, but is still movable in.
[C] Looks first, practicality second. If you don't catch their eye, you won't have a chance anyway.
