On one hand some people disregard whatever you say as "nogen", whether it's valid or not, so it may be necessary for more important stuff. And every excuse to post a gen is a good one. On the other hand posting with identifiable gens means people will remember what you've said previously and what your opinions are on things, whether they want to or not. Once you know they remember it's easy to start posting like they know you, and like they care. Risks becoming another blogposting avatarfag.
