[Ashore - Part 3]
As much as Ami had to do something, she looked at down at the assorted remains from the tree and knew none of it could realistically get the attention of a boat, definitely not one that far out. On the other hand, whatever was reflecting in the tree above... it might have been just the thing. Spurned on by this realization and the sense of urgency, Ami gave the tree another vigorous shake. The object above continued to glisten, and yet didn't budge... so Ami acted in desperation. She stepped back, rose one leg up to her chest... and sharply kicked out a bare foot, striking the tree sharply with an extended kick.
Initially, the action did more damage to her pride than anything. Not only did it make her exposed state all the more apparent, but it hurt. Ami winced and recoiled in pain, drawing her leg back close while briefly rubbing the underside of her foot... at around the same time that she saw the reflective object tumble down from the leaves and land gently in the sand at her feet.
None other than her cellphone. How it had gotten up there, she had no idea. A stray breeze? An impetuous bird? Someone having found it and tossed it up there on a malicious whim? The possibilities ranged from ridiculous to unnerving... but all that mattered was the outcome. She had her phone back, and with it, a means of contacting the outside world... and more importantly, help.
Meanwhile, the boat continued its slow but distinct departure out into the sea. She had to act fast. The phone had very limited battery life, but was somehow still active... for now. She even had a signal, but it was clearly very unstable.
**What should Ami do?**
[A] Turn on the flashlight and try to signal the boat.
Try to call for help, maybe she can reach someone on the vessel.
[C] Use the locator to get an idea of where on earth she is.
