Ironically, this slave is serving out a "service contract" of one year. So this fits in with the prior discussions in this thread about ways to have "legal" slavery in societies where slavery and debtor prisons are formally banned (USA). The guy even brings up in the story that slavery is not legal, but the slave explains to him that her "slavery" is a "service contract" where she does anything and everything.
