>>1845908Joy sends out an Electrike, her opponent lets out a Houndour. The Electrike is the higher level, at 13.
Both Pokémon roar ferociously at each other, trying to make their rival back off. Electrike makes the first move, a Thunder Wave that Houndour promptly dodges and counterattacks with Ember. Electrike braces itself and tackles right through the ember and into Houndour, pushing it back. Houndour tries to create distance, but it just can’t keep up with the speed of its opponent that keeps ferociously trying to run Houndour over. Eventually, Electrike reaches its enemy Pokémon and lets out a Thunder Wave that strikes true. Houndour’s movements become sluggish, and it just tries to defend himself by spitting embers out of its mouth while trying its best to snap out of the electric current coursing through its body. Electrike howls in victory and tackles its opponent into submission, taking the fight.
A light I hadn’t noticed until now changes above the miko girl. There are six shining red spheres, and one of them turns itself off as a sound of a bell rings on stage. The public applauds once more, and both trainers call their Pokémon back. The girl on the Miko costume walks to the middle and front of the stage, faces the audience and simply kicks off some really odd sandals she was wearing, and leaves them there; to then walk back to her original position.
“Tomoko has five Pokémon left” the voice on the speakers says. “She has taken off her sandals. You may continue.”
The second fight is Joy’s Magnemite against Tomoko’s Slakoth. Joy wins with the same strategy of paralyzing her opponent and then finishing it down. Tomoko goes again in front of the stage, and takes off her socks. There is an announcement of what she just did and the fighting continues.

Joy won, just losing her Aipom to a Squirtle. She took off her shoes for that. Right now, Joy’s Electrike is just finishing off Tomoko’s last Pokémon.
