Holo is definitely a wolf girl, but it is perplexing why the official artist made Horo's fur colour more like a fox instead of wolf. There are red foxes, but no red wolves. Her tail also has the uniform bushiness of a fox instead of the more rangy texture of a wolf's tail. It doesn't help that some of the fan drawings "cutify" Horo to the point that she resembles a catgirl.
