>>2701764I can't use Raycast, but I think this is probably happening:
1) Models are tuned by modelers in MMD for a white background, so the skin is almost white. Separation between RGB is much less than in real skin.
2) Raycast doesn't add any color, might be ignoring toon color (which often adds color in shadows for skin), and probably reduces color separation even more with a tone curve.
3) Models are turned in MMD to have no specular, because default shader doesn't do gamma correctly and doesn't do grazing specular.
4) Raycast probably looks at materials, sees they have no specular, and doesn't bother to add any.
5) Raycast is probably ignoring spheres, which are a non-physical (especially with incorrect gamma) way of compensating for lack of real specular.
