>>2842762I like the idea of having her spend a day in a pillory. It's been a while since she was first stripped and she's yet to cast any magic. But instead of realizing that they were wrong, they double down and assume she's merely been casting spells when nobody's looking. So they lock her in a pillory in the middle of the town for a day to make sure she's always being watched, and when night falls, some people start to mess with her a bit.
>You could even mix in some mild blackmailOne of the main things I'm thinking about is having her getting groped a ton. Every time she's in public, people are constantly pinching her butt and grabbing her thighs while claiming that they're under the influence of a seduction spell. And if she tries to slap their hands away or fight back at all, they act like she's randomly attacking them and the level of suspicion increases. Maybe at one point, she hits a man and the 'Witch Watch' puts her in handcuffs for the rest of the evening.
The more I play with the idea, the more I realize how little I know about the general day-to-day life of somebody during the 'witch trial' period of history. So I came up with the idea to instead have it take place in the mid-90s, during the height of the Satanic Panic. Moral guardians become suspicious of her because of her dyed-black hair, navel piercing, and she never seems to go to church.
So a big part of the plot might be these religious types trying to 'purify her soul' by forcing her to attend mass, volunteer, and do other charitable deeds around the town - all while demanding that she ignore the people staring at her and groping her because "everybody knows that witches are quick to anger".
But it's just an idea that I'm toying with while I have writers block for a different story. I don't even have an ending in mind other than a vague notion that her friends form their own 'real' witches coven to try to fight back when the town starts to accuse other women of being witches by association.
