You decide the most relevant chapter is 4, which is all about hexing, enchantment and illusion. You spend hours pouring over the dense book, it didn’t look this big from the outside!
you find a handful of useful spells that you can cast (and many more you cant cast.) the first thing you attempt is the mending hex, which is supposed to repair clothing.
You target your boot first and the leather easily finds its way together, but it feels a bit tighter now. trying it on your pants doesn't work at all though, there's just not enough material to go around.
it looks like you need another solution to your bottomlessness, but fear not the book has a few more tricks. The next thing you try is an illusion, you don’t have nearly enough power
to make it solid, but you can at least create visual pants. You cast the spell on yourself and almost immediately run into an issue. the pants are non physical, and they clearly intersect
your other clothing. If your pants phase through your other clothing people will know they aren't there. The only way to force them not to is to wear nothing but illusions.
But that’s just so… perverted! you could never do something like that. but you also have issues going into town naked from the waist down.
