They could draw magical life energy from the natural world (after taking off clothes, which block the energy) and will their cells to grow into tails and ears and so on. They'd each have an affinity for a certain animal determined by genes, but sharing life energy with each other (mouth-to-mouth) would let them learn other animal parts. So they could meet in witch-like covens to commune and try on each others' animal bits. With experience, a girl could learn to take full-fledged monstergirl form like centaur, succubus, lamia, arachne etc.
It would be a nice bonus if I could at least meet one of these girls.
