She shrugged.
I had bought some cheap towels and we rubbed them all over our bodies before summoning the beast because Yin told us to. We had left said towels close to the circle and in theory they would make the ‘puppy’ get used to us, so far the horrible thing had mostly ignored the drapes and was hell-bent on knocking us off so it could eat us.
It had been hours and the only reason we were still alive was because the dumb beast would only chomp at the tree ever so often.
The dog didn’t have a name because it was an orphan and a runt; at least, if the chant I made was right it was supposed to be. Once I had given it a name, it would be its truename and that would mean I would have power over him; I could summon him without the need of a circle just as if he was bound to me like Yin was, it would be more obedient and I could even banish it; the problem was that for me to name it, the hellhound had to accept its name and preferably I had to be the only one to know it; I had to whisper it to its ear after the animal had accepted me, which was not going to happen at this rate.
The beast bit at the trunk again, tearing a burning chunk away with its powerful mandibles. It barked again with its front-legs down and its head up.
“Bad dog!” I shouted at it. “Bad, bad dooog!”
*Bark!* *Bark!* *Bark, bark!*
“Don’t provoke him! They can understand speech!” Yin advised.
