>>2588219It's really hard to believe how far ENF has come as a genre. These whipper snappers might not know the struggle, but I remember browsing through hours of early internet forums for shitty stories. Worst, it often wasn't obvious. There was no accurate Google and you had to actually participate in the communities or sleuth your way dozens of sites in a chain, and remember how you got there in the first place.
Then after all that work, the art or story telling was often pretty bad (compared to today). Shitty flash games, dead links, half completed work, and by God we were happy if some even remotely ENF thing touched our lips. These kids are spoiled for choice now.
I honestly shouldn't feel nostalgic about it, but I think I've been part of this for more than a decade now.
