The country of Nakanorori which inhabits the island of Nakanotorishima, central bird island in english and the Ganges Island to earlier colonizers, is like a more culturally and ethnically diverse Japan with the Japanese still being dominate (this allows me to keep the aesthetics I want while still having allot of freedom). In the modern day it is a corporate haven and tourist destination with a first world country standard of living but also endemic exploitation due to it’s libertarian leanings. This is tolerated due no one wanting to be the one who rocks the boat and gets the cash cow dumped overboard.
Peer pressure, competition, strong financial incentives, fear of loosing out, crushing consequences, and the ability to quickly rise back up rule the culture. This is reflected in the laws that govern the country, want businesses can get away with, the school system which is completely privatized, and even it’s cultural heritage.
For instance Yūki Private School has a sponsorship with the Ansoku Destinations Travel Agency who are offering Yūki Private a lucrative deal to advertise the Mukidashi Nudist Resort in some manner. The school then uses their Immersive Lifestyle Studies course to offer three students who are at risk of failing an opportunity to earn allot of credits. Those three students “volunteer” to become nudist for a week while they study nudism, how that relates to the Unabara people who originally colonized Nakanotorishima and the Meiyokei tradition, with the Mukidashi Resort as the prime example.
The armbands in the picture denote those participating in the Immersive Lifestyle Studies course, the stickers denote legal exceptions for culture, education, and artistic matter, and the body writing are advertisements for the resort.
