Makoto is a somewhat tomboyish-looking girl. She's tall and lanky and isn't very pretty (at least she thinks so). It's not so much that she intentionally dresses boyish, it's just that she has no real interest in fashion or personal appearances in general. Her personality is more nerdy than anything, but she tends to keep her interests to herself. She's a bit dopey, or ditzy perhaps, and doesn't seem to notice when she looks unkempt or silly, and even if she did, she probably wouldn't care too much.
