When /b/ stopped by to pay us a visit around post 999900ish, this place was a shitshow.
Nearly every thread on the board was wiped from existence. Most of it was spam and garbage, trolling and GET attempts. And yet, some of the more well-meaning invaders actually did take an interest to delivering /e/ threads and /e/ content.
Though it was much more former than the latter. Meanwhile, The Ladi/e/s and G/e/ntlemen tried hard to continue business as usual. The strongest form of revolt we had was to carry on and try to nab the GET out from under their noses.
There was bad blood on both sides.
I remember one of the /b/tards reacting to the local outrage by saying something to the effect of "Why would they be mad at us? They're a slow board, they should be grateful for the content."
I don't think /e/'s "speed" is a disadvantage. 8/10 of our threads are full of content. We have single-posters delivering massive dumps over days and weeks. We have games that have been going uninterrupted for years. We have some of the oldest threads in 4chan history.
/e/ isn't slow because people keep old threads on life support, threads live long and fulfilling lives because /e/ is slow enough to bump the good threads and let the crap sink to the bottom
