I'd say if you're gonna rename it at this point, at least keep /sdg/ as part of the subject, like "/edg/ (formerly /sdg/)" as a transitional measure because people are used to searching by that name and it's already cross-linked as /sdg/ by the other generals. During this transition we would also want to get the other generals to change their crosslinks.
