Like you enter the area with normal no-stat clothing so the player would have incentives to change clothes.I think that crafting specialized gear before attempting to tackle harder challenges could be a fun thing. I don't mean full monster hunter, but something player can be involved with. Places with combat will be pretty unwelcoming and not warehouses with free stuff, like in many RPGs. Dungeon is more fun when it's a bad place where bad things happen, the promise of a reward pushes your forward, and if you fail there is price to pay.
