I use the magic wand set to 25% tolerance on the original layer, touch it up with the lasso. Then without deselecting the area use the bucket on the multiply layer, I use roughly 50% opacity with a more Orange-y brown than you'd expect changing the opacity & color / # of times you apply to get different skin tone. Touch up with a brush.
