There are plenty of websites and apps you can use to help you find the source of an image. If nothing comes up on the image search, perhaps a couple of keywords on the search engine will be enough and if it isn't, then you'll really have to dig deeper by going to known websites to find the image.
Take pic related for example. Nothing came up on the image search engines I used when I looked up the 4chan banner, so the next thing I did was I typed a couple words on Google and it was one of the first images to pop up. Effort pays off.
