“rediscover” their roots to be eligible for the various government/corporate benefits the ethnic group gets. They just have to be willing to throw away some of their pride and modesty to engage in Unabaran “cultural practices”. The government and corporations get to advertize nearly naked women/men as cultural attractions, the Unabara have fun messing with their new “brethren” by dictating said “cultural practices”, and those who rediscovered their roots usually get something for their trouble so everybody wins the circle of exploitation.
