The alternative is regional lora scheduling. It can limit the effect of a lora to just one region, so there is no bleed at all as long as characters stay within their designated area. But this only works with regional prompts in latent mode (which is older tech, more strict with regions and so a bit harder to make characters interact). Another downside is this takes forever, and seemingly not due to vram constraints. I'm talking 20x slower than a regular regional prompt gen. In Comfy it looks like this
