Their issue is that they generally don't converge during sampling, ie the sampling pictures tend to be a mish mash of different pictures attempting to meld into one, which ends up blurring out details or fucking up the pictures in general. I recommend DPM++ 2M Karras.
Stick to a low base resolution, such as 512 and use Hi Res Fix. The latent upscalers (from Latent to Nearest Exact) is designed to add more detail based on available pixel data. While this can make images higher quality, it's a gacha crapshoot as to getting what you want and is resource intensive. LSDR being the most intensive and time wasting. Use a SRGAN as it just smoothens and sharpens lines, which is fine for anime pics you fap to once or twice, I recommend R-ESRGAN-4x+-Anime6B or the 4xUltrasharps you can download.
