>>1582708No, even in that darkened alcove, it would not take much at all for a passing person to notice the nude female struggling with the tattered remnants of a blouse, not to mention how silly the notion of fashioning an outfit from it was.
She reluctantly leaned towards the edge of the narrow space and peered into the adjacent street. It wasn't empty, it wasn't even sparsely occupied. The street was quite -dense- with passing shoppers and all manner of people. It was only frequented by pedestrians, so she didn't have to worry about weaving through traffic(a small blessing), but that still meant a lot of obstacles who were bound to notice a nude female in their midst.
Yet... she had no other choice. She couldn't go back to that boy and stand there bickering, or wait there helplessly, she had to see this through and just be done with it. So with her mind made up, she took in a deep breath and set her shoulders to the wall... then she looked over, exited the alcove, and ran onto the sidewalk.
It was hard to say what she expected, but there were certainly immediate reactions. A few gasps, a number of heads turning, and even a distant whistle or two. She ignored them all and stumbled-ran her way through the street, clutching her chest with her right arm and keeping the other set between her legs for dear life. Her backside was plainly exposed, but it was easily the lesser evil. Each step felt like it took an eternity to undertake, even as she made it across the narrow path and towards the shops on the other side, having already caused quite a bit of gossip amongst those she passed.
The passerbys on the other side already turned to regard her, as did the girl running a nearby cart, as she froze on her feet, staring blankly at the shop in front of her. There it was, the place she had been told to go... and her feet carried her no further.
"Closed for renovations," it said.
