>>1838666You got a lot of support, so your idea it is. Sadly, I can't justify the 'I'll scout ahead' portion, it's too meta-gamey. Don't worry, Melody still gets the trainer to herself (if she wants).
>>1838664“What path do you think we should take?” Asks Aria. She knows I don’t know. It’s a coin-flip either way.
“Let’s just go with the path that looks the easiest. We don’t know what path leads where, so there’s no difference.”
“Sounds like a plan. I’m right behind you.”
Oh, I know you are.
We take the detour and find ourselves having a relatively leisure walk in relatively dry terrain with a relatively flat surface. A dream come true. If the rest of the path to exit Green Forest could be all like this I’d be so happy. The forest almost looks beautiful when seen from this perspective; all lush green and natural, all those Pokémon sounds almost like a choir, the towering trees blocking a good deal of the sunlight…
“Y-yaaaa!” I yell in surprise and jump back.
A spear is shot my way, it lands and sticks to the ground right in front of me.
“What the hell was that?” Asks a concerned Aria.
We can hear a rustle from a nearby tree; and then we see a kid climbing down from it.
“Ha, gotcha! O-oowww!”
Aria runs straight to him and runs to hit him in the head.
“What is wrong with you? Why are you throwing dangerous stuff to people?”
“That’s how I catch trainers coming this way! Leave me alone!”
“You could’ve hit me!” I complain, my heart pounding my chest.
“It’s just a bamboo net, you would’ve been fine. Can you people just relax?”
I turn to see the ‘spear’ that was thrown. It wasn’t a spear at all. It’s just a stupid bug catching net. Hollow bamboo. Yes, not nearly as lethal as I thought. Still pretty damn annoying on that brat to pull stuff like this. He’s short and a lot younger than us; dressed in bug catcher trainer uniform. He has two Pokéballs on his waist.
