To me tomboy has always been about the attitude, not the look. Sure they might have priorities that tend to create similar appearances, but they don't all have them. Tomboys don't need to have short hair or be muscled or even particularly athletic. They just need to be one of the guys, someone you can hang out with while talking about dumb shit or hobbies.
