Gordeau has really solid pressure on top of his neutral just being suffocating because if you press a button he might grim reaper you. His command grab is what pushes him to top tier, though. It has huge range and a pretty ambiguous startup animation, so when he's in on you it's all fucked. It's also the only character in the game with real +-on-block pressure resets. Everyone else just does it with standard MB rebeat pressure.
I wouldn't call him broken, but he's really close and a huge pain in the ass to deal with. He's also the king of netplay and everyone plays him.
It's still a really good game anyway.
