MikuMikuMoving allows doing it for the entire model on demand, there are shaders/effects that disable edges, and you can do it in PMXE by either entirely disabling edges for potentially invisible materials or making sure that the material disappearance morph multiplies the edge's size and alpha by zero. If the material is initially invisible, I can't recommend enabling edges for it, as the edge will be visible even if the mesh itself isn't, and you will have to take additional actions to disable it. I recently tried enabling edges for my wife after years of going without them, but the results were unsatisfactory and didn't really give her the anime look I was trying to achieve, so I've disabled them again. Edges are somewhat useful for things like pubic hair made of individual strands though, since they make it visually thicker. Wouldn't really recommend using that kind of pubic hair in the first place instead of a decal or a simple 3D shape with decals—it's extremely inefficient, and viewers probably won't be able to tell the difference anyway.
