you can also try DNS leak test with your vpn on and see if its still seeing you from an IP in the US or whatever, if it comes back the country you VPN'd into, then should be fine
can also try an incognito window or a new browser like a fresh install of firefox or something log into steam on the web then try to add the game to your library from steamdb etc
