NovelAI was a model that was very much trained on anime and stuff and that used a heavy emphasis on booru type tags but I can't really remember the history of SD, I only started in december 2022. Natural language worked on it as well. I dunno if it was all about dreamboothing training models further or starting from scratch. Waifu diffusion was something that was supposed to be trained from scratch but it was ass. Anything suddenly appeared around december and people claimed it was some chink model that probably also was mainly trained on booru stuff. There's still midjerwery and other reddit paid models that are online only and they are trained on their own shit and have their own shitty prompt language.
now everything is a mix of a mix with loras included into the mix and such. I use a mix of natual language / tag prompt and usually the model understands it.
