“That’s the bad news,” Carmen finished.
“We had a hard time getting it down from where you left it,” excused Lisa. “Besides, it’s only a corner. It still works and everything, see?”
“We kept calling it until we found it,” Erika explained, she held to me as if I would jump away and get lost in the forest if she didn’t. “The pants you left it on got torn when we tried pulling them down.”
“If Aria is hungry, we have plenty of Plan C remaining,” Medea had a cloth bag with a metallic stench to it, she opened to show a bunch of wet food cans on the inside. I found a little demeaning that they would think to lure me out with food.
“You’re a mess,” Lisa told to me, holding my hair like it was a dirty diaper. “Do we take her to the showers?” she turned to seek the group’s approval.
“I don’t want to shower,” I grumbled. “I already took a very long shower today.”
“And you need another one,” insisted Lisa, holding her nose with two fingers. I knew for a fact I smelled perfectly fine, so she was only making a fool out of herself.
“How about a field trip, then?” Carmen butted in. “We’re already here, and we’re already set for an excursion, except for Aria being naked and all; but what can you do? Anyway, I always regretted not taking a swim in the waterfall when we first got there. I was embarrassed, but I think I’m ready now.”
