>>2759299Our story picks up decades/centuries later following one of these girls, one of the last yet to find a place for her computer. The world may be empty of human life, but it still holds many dangers. Be it the ruins of civilization, wild animals, dangerous weather, the other mysterious thing, she faces many trials and time is running short. All the while, she wrestles with the worry of failing her mission as well as the daunting prospect of living a normal life, something she's never known.
One more aspect is the main antagonist of the series, another one of the protectors who went rogue. At some point, this girl came to the conclusion that humanity musn't hire and wait for the climate to change, but just adapt and evolve to it. No one knows why she came to that conclusion, perhaps she went and from the loneliness or the existential dread of the situation, perhaps someone or something changed her mind, or perhaps she always held this view. All that's known is that she had her computer release everyone early, and they all perished. Now she travels the world in search of the other computers so as to release their populations, and she wants our hero's most of all.
