For example, if you ask for a "1girl" "holding paper" and "convenient censoring" all in the same prompt it understands what you want is the girl covering herself with the paper.
Pony will put the paper in her hand and thats it but her hand will be on any random position. Or if you start saying "convering breasts" or "covering privates" or covering anything she will cover her breasts with her hand and the paper will usually in her hand or somewhere in the picture.
(Then again USUALLY you can be lucky with the gacha and get something close too with pony).
After enough retries you may get a gen where she uses the paper for covering herself but usually it wont.
If you ask for girl kicking you will most likely get a girl kicking, on pony you will get is a girl sort of raising her leg on a weird pose, until you have retried enough times.
Colors on illustrious are more vibrant
The other advantage is tha it can actually make people holds items, you can make them hold spears, axes, swords that actually look like swords axes or spears. Good look with that on pony. It can even give "famous" weapons that would usually not work on pony like "gae bolg"
Also, it can pull lot of characters without lora. I always prefer to have a lora because some characters are strong as fuck and is hard to avoid certain traits or styles, but you can't deny its also kind of convenient to have access to lot of characters natural for easy gens
I still train all my lora for both pony and Illustrios because I "invested" lot of time on pony and its hard to let it go, and for some things like monstergirls with tentacles or things like that feels a bit better,
The other thing illustrious kind of struggles a bit is with regional prompter, Pony does a better job at keeping the two characters separated withot bleeding
But aside of those two things illustrious is just better-
