>does it only rip the models on screen? Some rippers are based on what you are literally facing in front of you, but NinjaRipper behaves differently. It rips whatever is loaded up within an environment... not particularly whats in front of you. Going back to Alice Gear Aegis again, theres asteroids that fly around in levels and using the ripper would capture all that shit floating around as well as aspects of the UI and of course character model(s). If two characters are talking in a scene, it would capture both their models. You can even capture models/outfits from gacha menus, if they are rendered in 3D. Theres downsides however, being that they are often divided up into MANY parts (arms legs, guns, etc) as individual files. Its a fucking pain and its why I only did a few tests and never went further with actually converting stuff into MMD or something. Theres also, again, the issue of some games not working at all.
>Meaning you'd actually have to get the characters? Also yes, you need to actually find a model of whoever you want... whether its a scene, or gameplay, or a menu, etc... I hope that makes sense!
>bones/facials/etcIt rips meshes and textures, and that is all. As far as I know/remember it doesnt include "morphs" of any sort, no physics, and definitely no bones at all.
I went through the trouble myself because AGA had a Strike Witches crossover event and since Im a SW fan I really wanted to rip certain models before they were no longer available to look at, just in case I did want to do something one day. So I recommend attempting this only if you really care and have the time, in other words.
