I used to port through Blender but some things I noticed that made me pretty much always stick to using the plugin is
1. Basic physics set up that I can build off of (if there are dynamic bones on the model)
2. Sometimes porting through Blender seems to mess up shape keys (some eye shape keys are a little jagged when done through Blender, I noticed this w/ some Jingo Channel and Oitan ports I was trying out)
