>>1943969This author honestly deserves an award for how well he wrote Basara and Chisato's date in volume 8. He masterfully used classic anime date cliché's in a way that they didn't come off as corny or stupid since both characters are self aware and don't act stupid. It's defintely difficult for people to say that Basara has no personality considering how he acts with Chisato on the date. I'm really glad the author wrote another elevator scene. It sucks they more or less got cockblocked by having 60 seconds in the elevator, because they both clearly wanted to do more. It was nice to learn that Basara has a love for photography, and Chisato pouting and writing "cheater" and idiot on his back when he was talking to other girls was cute. Basara gets respect for also realizing the he fucked up by talking to other girls. After doing some touring, they take an elevator crowded with people back down to their taxi. It was nice how Basara guarded Chisato to make sure that she wasn't touched by other guys in the elevator, and hugged her close after realizing that he fucked up earlier.
Hopefully the other girls get so solo dates when things get peaceful again in the series.
