Non-boobzilla sort of implies pre-2004 when almost everyone jumped aboard the boob-wagon.
>>1399488>Proof? This isn't Australia, so I have a hard time believing this. Just because you don't know doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It was part of a giant raft of changes to shift american morality which was regarded as being too liberal in 2001. While Bush was president and the Congress was nominally under control by republicans, a great many laws affecting or directly regulating morality were modified. This included laws funding certain types of research, medical treatments, abortions, requirements to operate abortion facilities as part of existing medical facilities, unprecedented (in post-korean war history) replacement of US attorneys who were suspected of being democrats (very controversial), PROTECT, PATRIOT, "patriot 2", ACTA (still requires ratification by all signatories), etcetera. The gov't at that time also put great influence on other countries to enact similar laws including japan and australia. While it succeeded in australia, it failed the usa supreme court which at that time did not have enough far-right justices so the usa changes were watered down a great deal into the PROTECT Act and other statute changes not covered in the PROTECT Act. Technically, under 18 is regarded as being a minor in federal law for both actual and virtual (thought crime) anime/manga. One item struck down changed the whole nature so instead of "enforced as" we have "enforced similar to" situation which the republicans said would be their next goal when they are back in power.
