https://civitai com/articles/8962 has some links a short way down that might be a bit outdated but its what i use, doesn't need noob (though might not be best for pony models), will help a lot getting the character more consistent, though there's only so much you can do for an OC unless you get enough acceptable content to make a lora.
Honestly i'd recommend webui forge instead of a1111 (similar but optimised, and maybe better supported? idk). reforge is recommended a lot too i've just never tried it.
it'll get easier.
