>>2704929>>2705161Heh, I figured that might've been you in ENF General. I was the one with the little storyboard of a hypothetical chapter, too.
Just a heads up, I haven't watched the Yugioh anime pretty much at all but I read the early manga (everything pre-Duel Monsters) a few months ago. Arguably I'm the last person you want to ask about accessibility for people who only watched the anime, but I'll do my best.
Having read what you've done so far, I think you're doing a good job on the feel of the setting and characterization of the main cast. So far I haven't noticed anything that should be confusing to people with a basic familiarity to Yugioh.
With the pictures, I like the general structure and don't think anything's felt really forced so far. If you're concerned that your search for good pictures might be affecting the story, maybe try writing down a brief summary of what the picture needs to be like and then coming back later to find something to fill it in? I have a lot of pictures saved, so I might be able to help.
One thing though, some of the pictures are probably best placed a couple paragraphs later. Right after the moment the PoV character sees it themself, I'd say is probably a good rule of thumb. For instance, Ayaka tied to the pole is probably best placed right after the paragraph Yugi sees her in, and the Suzumiya pic is probably best placed around when Yugi sees the newspaper picture. The Hitomi pictures, by contrast, feel perfectly placed.
And don't worry about the PoV, you're doing fine there. With many ENF targets it's good to have a single observer like this, and Yugi *is* the protagonist. With Hitomi... we're just getting introduced to her so it's hard to say much, but I haven't noticed any major dissonance yet.
