Or perhaps the exchange of a significant amount of the energy where the heart is a conduit. Sharing a true "love" with someone connects you in a way where your magical energy is connected, however strong or weak that connection may be, and in this case it's strong enough that some of the sexual energy from Aria's magic crosses into Yuri's faint magic network.
I don't know I could think about it some more and actually construct a system for it if you would like.
