As she eyed the snack items on the shelves through the glass door, she noted the shop stood apparently empty. The overhead lights were on, the glass tubes of the "OPEN" sign still glowed red, but there was no trace of human presence aside from an open magazine on the counter by the register. Perhaps the clerk had gone to visit the restroom? That would just make this easier!
