Having to travel the wild with barely any supplies or supervision, powerful demigods at each trainer's command that can easily cause catastrophic damage including to clothing, a hyper-competitive environment ripe for abuse where ridiculous losing bets can be implemented, a main heroine moving from town to town making it basically be a 'consequence-free' environment in the case of exposure, cartoonish villain organizations up to mischief; I could go on but it would make such a great /e/ saga is the point. Not merely a short story but something that could be taken up by a prolific writer into a series; I'm not making the request right here specifically but if anyone knows of stories already going on or wants to start on one I'd appreciate it.
