>But I agree it is overused, and unimaginative, for the most part.Again, I'm with you. While dark-skinned blonde (and silver/white haired) characters aren't exactly ubiquitous in anime, I would say that they're more common than dark-haired black characters that aren't drawn as racial stereotypes.
And I while know lots of shoopers enjoy the light hair + dark skin combo; for me, the appeal of brown time is the dark skin complimented by black or chocolate brown hair on familiar characters.
