>>2869740I feel like the backgrounds in XL issue is mostly a skill issue nowadays. 1.5 has way better tooling like controlnet (or had, I haven't tried the newest stuff that came out for XL). 1.5 Also has way more varied checkpoints (admittedly buried under trillions of shitty merges).
All of these small advantages from 1.5, though, are already completely offset by all the gains in XL, and also going away fast. 1.5 is, nowadays, a model for very low VRAM, exclusively.
